In Short

MediaRubic builds digital twins of real spaces for workforce training: onboarding, site familiarisation, safety and emergency practice, and brand experiences. We capture the space — most often with a Matterport Pro3 scan or 360° photography — and turn it into a training environment that runs in the browser, with no app, headset or installation required.

Depending on the goal, the result is either a navigable 3D or 360° tour with learning content attached to real locations, or a fully interactive twin rebuilt in Blender, where people walk freely, click objects, complete timed tasks and share the space with colleagues.

Which Kind of Digital Twin?

"Digital twin" is used for two very different things, and it helps to be precise:

Industrial or operational twins mirror machines, production lines or energy systems with live sensor data, for monitoring and predictive maintenance. We do not build these.

Spatial training twins are accurate 3D replicas of real places — a factory floor, an office, a campus, a store — used so that people can learn inside them. This is what we build. The value is not the data feed but what a learner can see, find and do in a space before, or instead of, being there.

Most projects need one of these two. The difference is not the capture — it is what people can do once they are inside.

From Real Space to Interactive Twin

Capture the Space

Usually a Matterport Pro3 scan, which produces a measurable 3D model rather than flat panoramas; 360° photography where a lighter tour is enough.

Export the Data

A scan's MatterPak export gives a textured 3D mesh (OBJ), a coloured point cloud (XYZ) and floor plan images — the geometric reference for the rebuild.

Rebuild in Blender

For interactive twins, room layout and furniture are rebuilt and checked against the real space; light, materials and lived-in details are added here.

Make It Run on the Web

Every version has to run in a browser. Models and textures are compressed to a size and performance budget, and each release is walked through in the browser at full scale before it goes live.

Add the Learning

Tasks, timers, scoring and feedback are placed on real locations, so the learning happens where it would happen at work.

Deliver It

A link for self-paced use, a room code for group sessions, or a module inside the LMS where completion has to be tracked.

Training That Can Run Inside a Twin

SAFETY TRAINING

Hazard Hunt

Learners walk through the real workplace against the clock and mark the risks they spot — a blocked emergency exit, a cable across a corridor, a covered fire extinguisher. Each finding is explained, and the session ends with a report of what was found and what was missed. Scenario content is reviewed by the organisation's own safety specialist.

EMERGENCY PRACTICE

Fire Drill

A fire starts in a different place each round. The learner has to take the right steps in the right order — raise the alarm, reach the nearest extinguisher, or evacuate when it is too late — and is scored on sequence and time.

ONBOARDING

First-Day Walk-Through

Games in Your Own Space

The real floor plan becomes the map for a short multiplayer game: several people join the same room with a code, the server keeps score, and colleagues play in a space they recognise.

Why We Start from Matterport Scans

Matterport Pro3 captures indoor and outdoor spaces from multiple positions and combines them into a measurable 3D model that can be explored in a browser, measured point to point and used to generate floor plans. Unlike a 360° tour made of linked panoramas, a Matterport scan has real geometry — which makes it a reliable foundation for rebuilding the space as an interactive twin.

If a scan already exists, its MatterPak export is usually enough to begin. Scanning in Istanbul is done by our sister brand Studio402. Matterport® is a registered trademark of Matterport Inc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a training digital twin the same as an industrial digital twin?
No. Industrial digital twins mirror machines or production systems with live sensor data for monitoring and maintenance. A training digital twin is an accurate 3D replica of a real place that people learn inside — for onboarding, site familiarisation, safety and emergency practice.
What is the difference between a 3D tour and an interactive digital twin?
A 3D or 360° tour shows the captured space: learners move between capture positions and open information placed in it. An interactive digital twin rebuilds the space as a 3D scene, so people can walk freely, interact with objects, complete timed scenarios and share the space with others at the same time.
Can you work with an existing Matterport scan?
Often, yes. The MatterPak export of a scan includes a textured 3D mesh (OBJ), a coloured point cloud (XYZ) and floor plan images, which is the usual starting point for rebuilding the space in Blender.
Can it run inside our LMS?
A 360° orientation can be delivered as a module inside an LMS; we have delivered LMS-compatible 360° orientations before. For interactive twins, LMS reporting is planned at the start of the project if completion or scores need to be tracked.
Do learners need an app or a VR headset?
No. The training opens in a modern web browser from a link. 3D tours can additionally be viewed with a VR headset.
Is the safety training content legally reliable?
We build the scenario, the space and the feedback. The safety content itself is reviewed and approved by the organisation's own occupational health and safety specialist before it is used.
