VR, AR & 360° Training

VR, AR & 360° Training
for Corporate Learning

Immersive training for the situations that are hard to teach on a slide: difficult customer conversations, risky work and unfamiliar places. Delivered in the browser, in a headset or inside your LMS.

In Short

MediaRubic designs and produces immersive training for companies: interactive 360° and VR experiences, augmented reality applications and 360° orientation modules that run inside an LMS. We have delivered interactive VR training on customer communication for a bank, LMS-compatible 360° VR training, a 360° orientation of a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and an AR indoor navigation application.

We choose the format by what the learner has to practise and what devices they actually have — so most of our immersive training also works in a normal web browser, and a headset is an option rather than a requirement.

Four Formats, Four Different Jobs

"VR training" is often used for all of these. They are not interchangeable, and choosing the right one decides both the cost and whether people actually use it.

FormatWhat the learner doesDeviceBest for
360° video experienceStands inside a real, filmed situation and looks aroundBrowser, phone or VR headsetRealistic atmosphere, empathy, first impressions of a workplace
Interactive 360° / VR experienceMakes choices at decision points, answers questions, sees the consequenceBrowser, phone or VR headsetCustomer conversations, sales and service behaviour, orientation
3D VR simulationMoves freely and acts in a computer-generated environmentVR headset or computerRisky or rare procedures, safety scenarios, equipment handling
AR applicationSees information placed on the real world through a phone or tablet cameraPhone or tabletNavigation in large buildings, on-the-job guidance, labelled equipment

What We Have Delivered

Selected projects. Client names are not shown.

  • Interactive VR experiences on effective customer communication for a participation bank — one set at the teller counter, one in a sales conversation.
  • LMS-compatible 360° VR training on zero waste, produced for a corporate learning provider.
  • A 360° LMS orientation of a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, introducing the facility as a learning module.
  • An augmented reality indoor navigation application.
  • A VR safety scenario for an energy company, focused on what employees must watch for near high-voltage lines.
  • Digital twins of a university campus and an archaeological heritage site — see digital twin training.

We have also delivered immersive training projects that are not public. Selected work can be viewed in our portfolio.

How We Produce Immersive Training

01

Check That Immersion Adds Value

We start by asking what the learner must be able to do afterwards. If the answer is mainly knowledge, a shorter e-learning module is the better tool, and we say so.

02

Script the Situation

Together with your subject-matter experts we write the scenario: the setting, the dialogue, the decision points, the right and wrong choices, and the feedback for each.

03

Capture or Build

360° filming on location, 3D modelling of the environment, or a Matterport scan of the real space — whichever fits the format. Video production is done by our own team.

04

Add the Interaction

Hotspots, choices, questions, scoring and feedback are placed inside the experience, so learning happens in the moment rather than in a quiz afterwards.

05

Deliver Where People Are

A browser link, a VR headset build, or an LMS-compatible module when completion and results have to be tracked.

06

Pilot and Improve

A pilot group goes through the experience first; choices that confuse people and steps where they drop out are fixed before the wider rollout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do learners need a VR headset?
No. 360° and interactive 360° experiences also run in a web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. A headset adds immersion where one is available, but the training does not depend on it.
Can VR and 360° training run inside our LMS?
Yes. 360° experiences can be delivered as LMS-compatible modules so completion and results are tracked with the rest of your training. We have delivered LMS-compatible 360° VR training and a 360° LMS orientation for a manufacturing plant.
What is the difference between 360° video and a VR simulation?
A 360° video places the learner inside a real, filmed location; interactive versions add decision points and questions. A VR simulation is a computer-generated 3D environment where the learner can move and act freely. 360° is faster to produce and looks real; 3D gives more freedom of action.
When is VR the right choice for training?
When the situation is rare, risky, expensive or hard to reproduce, when people need to understand a physical space, or when a conversation has to be practised under realistic pressure. When the content is mainly knowledge, a shorter e-learning module usually works better.
What is augmented reality used for in corporate training?
AR places information on the real world through a phone or tablet camera — for example directions inside a large building, guidance next to a machine or labels on equipment. We have built an AR indoor navigation application.
Can the training be produced in more than one language?
Yes. Narration, on-screen text, choices and questions can be produced in several languages, so the same experience can be rolled out to teams in different countries.

Which Situation Should People Practise?
